With the year winding down, I think it’s time to reflect a little bit. Every new year’s eve, I write a list of “firsts”- novel experiences that occurred in the previous year. So here’s my list of firsts from 2011 (along with the lists of firsts I wrote in 2010 and 2009, just for kicks).

Whether trying to fit 26 of us on 5 tables at Johnny Rockets and splitting a $205.10 bill or falling on our butts while attempting to ice skate, I am so thankful for the friends I have.

I Would Do Anything For You- Foster the People
As I watch the clock creep toward 4 a.m., it occurs to me that there was a time when this was routine and this hour was as familiar as an old friend.
I guess the pure exhaustion and lack of motivation to stay awake that accompanied senior year made me sleep at normal hours.
But still, there is a part of this insomnia that is strangely comforting in some small way.
